J.K. Dobbins will miss the entirety of the NFL’s 2021 season after suffering an injury during a preseason game earlier this month.
Many expected Dobbins to have a breakout year. As a rookie last year, the former Ohio State star carried the rock 134 times for 805 yards and nine touchdowns and also added 120 receiving yards. With a year of experience under his belt, he probably would have had an even better performance this upcoming season.
Unfortunately, Dobbins went down with a season-ending injury in the Ravens’ final preseason game. He will miss the 2021 season, as a result. It’s a brutal blow for Baltimore’s run-heavy offense.
Dobbins sent a message to Ravens fans on Tuesday, thanking them for their support and promising he’ll return “better than ever.”
“I appreciate all the love and support, it means the world to me,” Dobbins said on Twitter. “I’ll be back and I’ll be back better than ever.”

The Ravens will now turn back to Gus Edwards as their primary back. He had 723 yards and six touchdowns on an impressive 5.0 yards per carry during the 2020 season.
The Ravens are expected to rely more on their passing game this upcoming season. Lamar Jackson has reportedly improved his pocket presence and Baltimore added plenty of weapons in the passing game for Jackson to work with.
If Jackson can take a step forward in the passing game, the Ravens will have one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL.
