The Baltimore Ravens are regarded as one of the best rushing teams in the NFL. In 2021, the organization could very well put together another historic rushing campaign, much like they’ve done over the past few seasons.
On Sunday, the Ravens could tie an NFL rushing record that was set over four decades ago in their Week 4 matchup with the Denver Broncos. If the team can rush for 100 yards, they will tie the 1974-1977 Pittsburgh Steelers for most consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
When speaking to the media on Wednesday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh talked about the possibility of breaking the Steelers’ record.

The #Ravens have rushed for 100+ yards in 42 straight games, one shy of the all-time NFL mark set by the Franco-Harris-led #Steelers from 1974-77. John Harbaugh was asked what he remembers of those teams: “I remember I was a Browns fan, and we never beat ’em.”

The Ravens’ rushing offense starts with quarterback Lamar Jackson. Through the first three weeks of the 2021 season, the former league-MVP is averaging 83.7 rushing yards per game and had 107 yards on the ground against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.
Before the season began, Baltimore lost running backs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill to season-ending injuries. The Ravens filled the void quickly by bringing in veteran running backs Latavius Murray, Le’Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman. The team also has second-year man Ty’Son Williams, who has looked good with the carries that he’s received so far.
The Broncos have the No. 3 overall pass defense through the first three weeks of the 2021 season. Going up against a stingy secondary, Baltimore could look to do what they do best and try to run the ball effectively. If the Ravens can put together a solid performance against the Denver defense, come Sunday evening they will be tied for most consecutive 100 yard rushing games in NFL history.
