Ravens Owner Sums Up His Thoughts On Lamar Jackson

March 30, 2022 by The Spun

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson against the Titans.

Earlier this week, Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti met with the media to discuss a multitude of different topics.

His first order of business was announcing a new contract for head coach John Harbaugh. The Super Bowl-winning coach is locked in with a new three-year contract.

That led to plenty of questions about a potential new contract for someone else. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson is entering the final year of his contract and has earned a new deal from his team.

Bisciotti raved about his quarterback’s ability on the field when talking about Jackson.

“He’s a unique cat,” Bisciotti said about Jackson. “What are you going to do with a guy who wants to be unique? You don’t browbeat him into being a conformist. We appreciate him. All I know is his teammates freaking love him and the front office loves him. It’s like, keep doing you Lamar.”

While his comments are nice, it’s time for Bisciotti to pay up. Jackson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL since he entered the league – and one of the winningest.

The Cleveland Browns reset the market when they signed Deshaun Watson to a $230 million fully-guaranteed contract. Bisciotti noted Watson and the Browns changed the game, which is why he might be hesitant about giving Lamar a huge deal.

How much will Lamar earn on a new deal?
