Ravens QB Lamar Jackson shares thoughts on OC Greg Roman

January 11, 2022 by Ravens Wire

The Baltimore Ravens saw their 2021 season come to a close in Week 18, falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers by the final score of 16-13 in overtime. The team now enters their offseason, as they didn’t do enough to make the postseason, largely in part because they dropped six consecutive games to end the year.

Speaking to the media on Monday for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Lamar Jackson was asked about his thoughts on offensive coordinator Greg Roman and if he’d like to continue working with him. The fourth-year player talked about how he’s glad Roman is in Baltimore, but didn’t dive into his future.

Lamar Jackson: “Greg Roman has been great for us. He’s a great coach. We’re glad he’s here, but I can’t get into that. I don’t really know what they have going on upstairs. I don’t talk about stuff like that, but he’s been good for us though.”

Roman has taken a lot of criticism for his performances ever since the 2019 season. Many have argued that the team has outgrown Roman and his offense, but from what Jackson said, it seems like he’s happy with his offensive coordinator. It remains to be seen what decision will be made on Roman’s future, but the team will make their call based off of what they believe is best for the organization.
