The Ravens are reinforcing the trenches on defense with a pair of experienced players.

With veteran nose tackle Michael Pierce and third-year defensive tackle Rayshad Nichols sidelined for Organized Team Activities, the Baltimore Ravens added some more beef to the interior of their defensive line with a pair of veteran signings on Tuesday. Joining the 90-man roster is defensive tackle Deadrin Senat and nose tackle Josh Tupou.

Tupou is staying in the AFC North after spending the first seven years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals who he signed with after going undrafted out of the University of Colorado in 2017. The 6-foot-3 and 340-pound roadblock has appeared in at least 11 games in each of the past four seasons during which he accumulated all 24 of his career starts including the postseason. In 70 total career games, he has recorded 92 total tackles including six for a loss, five quarterback hits, two sacks and one forced fumble.

Senat measures in at 6-foot-1 and 305 pounds and most recently played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he spent the past two seasons bouncing between the practice squad and active roster. He spent his first three years in the league with the Atlanta Falcons after being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of University of South Florida. In 37 career games, Senat recorded two starts, 52 total tackles including four for a loss, one sack, six quarterback hits and one fumble recovery.

The Ravens already had one roster spot open after releasing defensive tackle Bravvion Roy last week and made more room Tuesday by waiving defensive tackle Ja’Mion Franklin with an injury designation.
