The Beatdown staff share which of the Ravens 2024 draft picks is their favorite.

The Baltimore Ravens came away with nine new rookies with the conclusion of the 2024 NFL Draft. Here, the Beatdown staff share which pick was their favorite.

To review, here are the Ravens’ picks:

  • Round 1 – CB Nate Wiggins, Clemson
  • Round 2 – OT Roger Rosengarten, Washington
  • Round 3 – EDGE Adisa Isaac, Penn State
  • Round 4 – WR Devontez Walker, North Carolina
  • Round 4 – CB T.J. Tampa, Iowa State
  • Round 5 – RB Rasheen Ali, Marshall
  • Round 6 – QB Devin Leary, Kentucky
  • Round 7 – C Nick Samac, Michigan State
  • Round 7 – S Sanoussi Kane, Purdue

Just overjoyed the Ravens picked Mo Kamara okay sorry I had to complain one final time as a CSU guy.

I’m usually the guy to take the first-round pick. The low-hanging fruit is always worth picking, and the top pick has always been my pick here. But I’m changing course, picking edge rusher Adisa Isaac.

I like the Ravens mixing it up and taking Isaac, a more proven rusher with good measurables over the freak athlete with high potential. I know numbers aren’t the be-all end-all but Isaac had 7.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss while his teammate to go in Round 1, Chop Robinson, finished with four sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss (in three fewer games).

Isaac has pedigree and will be in the room with pass rush coaching phenom, outside linebackers coach Chuck Smith. He’s in an excellent locker room with former teammate Odafe Oweh and the hopes are high he turns into that all-too-familiar later-round Ravens pick who goes off and becomes an NFL starter. Hopefully it occurs before his contract year, though. — Kyle Phoenix

Tez Walker is the choice for me. Not only was he a tremendous value pick in the fourth round at a top-three needy position, his skillset complements the returning players in the wide receiver room beautifully. The Ravens have been searching for an “X” receiver arguably since they traded away Anquan Boldin following his 2012 playoff heroics. This often neglected position in Baltimore has allowed opponents to stack the box and blitz relentlessly in the playoffs, contributing to Lamar Jackson and the overall offensive postseason woes. With the measurables and ball tracking to win outside the numbers on vertical passing plays, Walker just may be the elixir to expanding the passing offense to a championship level, either by stretching the defense to create space for the tight ends to operate or by making defenses pay the price for devoting too many resources towards slowing the Lamar and Derrick Henry rushing threat. — Vasilis Lericos

My favorite pick by the Ravens is second-round offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten out of Washington because of all he can be in both the immediate and long-term future. He spent his last two seasons in college at right tackle despite being a blindside protector by trade but since the Huskies’ starting quarterback was left-handed, his coaches had him flip sides. Rosengarten will compete with 2022 fourth-rounder Daniel Faalele for the starting right tackle spot as a rookie and is poised to win it as the better scheme fit of the two given his agility in space and pass protection prowess having not given up a sack in college. With former All-Pro Ronnie Stanley entering the final year of his reworked contract, there’s a chance Rosengarten could wind up back on the left side as his eventual successor to be Lamar Jackson’s starting blindside protector. — Joshua Reed

It has to be the clear and obvious choice of the first round pick. As a cornerback guy, I’ve been asking for a first round corner since Derek Stingley in 2022 and Deonte Banks in 2023. Even though Nate Wiggins wasn’t the corner I was envisioning, the more I read about him and hear from the team, the more it makes sense. The speed is electric, the coverage is near flawless, and he plays as physical as a Raven. Throw in a nutrition and strength plan for a kid who’s only 20 years old, I can’t find the downside. Marlon Humphrey is getting older and Brandon Stephens may not stay after this season. Wiggins should be a Ronald Darby upgrade as the third corner and will be ready to fly on an island by his second year. — Zach Canter

My favorite pick of the draft has to be TJ Tampa in the fourth. Tough not to love this one. The Ravens once again stole a player who fell lower than their projected ADP. Tampa, who was originally being picked in the second round in mock drafts, gives Baltimore another physical corner who allowed only one touchdown in his past 497 coverage snaps. The pick of Nate Wiggins put Baltimore’s already established secondary in a conversation with the best in the league. If Tampa comes in and makes an impact, Baltimore should easily tote the best unit in 2024. — Stephen Bospt
