Two women and a teenage boy were injured in a shooting Monday evening in Pigtown, police said.
Officers in the Southern District responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1100 block of Sargeant Street just after 5:30 p.m. A call for to report a shooting was received just as the officers arrived on the scene, police said in a news release.
Police say the officers saw two women, a 25-year-old and a 28-year-old, who were both suffering from gunshot wounds. The women were transported to area hospitals for treatment and were in stable condition, police said.
Minutes later, police were called to a hospital for a report of a shooting victim seeking care. When they arrived, officers found a 14-year-old boy who had been shot in the leg.
Police said all three victims were shot while in the 1100 block of Sargeant Street, according to preliminary information.
