The New York Jets are taking a new disastrous turn at 0-7 as the NFL Jets owner, Woody Johnson, isn’t happy and a trade involving Justin Fields could come sooner than expected. Amid their losing start, Johnson is taking shots at Fields under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn, while offering praise to Glenn, but withholding any recognition for the starting quarterback. Despite signing a two-year deal with the Jets, Johnson made it clear that he does not have faith in Fields and that could turn into real trouble if they start backup Tyrod Taylor and he outperforms the starter moving forward.
“If we could complete a pass, it would look good,” Johnson said. “It’s hard when you have a quarterback with a rating that.. he has the ability, but something is just not [jibing,].”
Fields is probably one of the most inaccurate quarterbacks in Jets history, while his conservative play led him to get hit with 22 sacks on the 2025 campaign alone. Even though he’s been able to complete 64% of his passes and has yet to throw a pick, this is something the team should keep an eye on. Either way, it might be best to trade him if the Jets don’t see a future in him, and it shouldn’t be too long for him to receive interest.

The biggest thing for the Jets is when they will trade Fields, not if. Here are three possible destinations for Fields if the Jets decide to part ways.
