3 Potential Destinations for Ravens Free Agent After Latest Extension

December 7, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

After signing veteran tight end Mark Andrews to a blockbuster three-year deal, the Baltimore Ravens’ 2026 free agent, Isaiah Likely, will probably sign with a new team this upcoming offseason. Likely formed one of the best duos alongside Andrews, which looked like Andrews would eventually be traded this past offseason. However, Likely is the latest victim of being the one left out of the group. This means he should receive some type of interest regardless of having one of the worst seasons this 2025 campaign.

3 Potential Destinations for Ravens Free Agent Isaiah Likely After Latest Extension

If he can stay healthy, Likely can be very effective for a team’s offense that is looking for an adequate tight end. He broke his foot in late July, which gave Andrews time to recover his starting position that he lost last season. Many thought that Likely would be the successor of Andrews, but it looks like it will have to be elsewhere.

Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Coastal Carolina product recorded 42 receptions for 477 receiving yards. It’s not the best numbers, but it was enough for everyone to wonder if Andrews’ time in Baltimore could be winding down. However, Andrews will be the starter for the time being, and Likely could be acquired from these three teams.

Potential Next Teams

Kansas City Chiefs

With Travis Kelce set to officially marry pop star Taylor Swift this upcoming summer, the Chiefs could lose him to retirement. Kansas City’s offense hasn’t been the same this season, and even if the Chiefs find a way to make the playoffs at 6-6, they’re easily a first-round exit. The postseason is a different ballgame, but Patrick Mahomes and the chemistry of his pass-catchers haven’t looked the same.

This could mean that the Chiefs could overhaul their offensive pass-attack, which includes Kelce, who is set to become a free agent in March. Kelce already said he isn’t playing anywhere else, so he should be heading into the sunset with Swift if the Chiefs decide to move on. Kansas City is still looking for its successor, and Likely might be a somewhat a viable replacement on a low-stakes one-year option since the Chiefs won’t have much cap space.

Dallas Cowboys

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ starting tight end, Jake Ferguson, might be in hot water. Despite signing a new extension, he hasn’t been his old self, and a costly fumble during Thursday Night Football could mean the beginning of the destruction of that position. Luke Schoonmaker isn’t the most reliable when it comes to backing up Ferguson either way, so Likely is the most obvious upgrade to fight over the starting role with Ferguson.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders’ 2025 season hasn’t gone as planned, with their star quarterback, Jayden Daniels, suffering a brutal injury. While he’s set to return, this doesn’t mean a team that is 3-9 has playoff aspirations. Instead of adding veteran playmakers like Bobby Wagner, Von Miller, Austin Ekeler and Zach Ertz on both sides of the ball, the Commanders must think about starting fresh.

Likely could provide that new, fresh breath of air for this offense. Daniels will return to full form in 2026, and Likely could be the starting point of something special if the Commanders continue to add more younger receivers to help Luke McCaffrey develop for the long term.
