For the second consecutive week, the Washington Football Team picked up an impressive win over a quality opponent.
Last week, Washington dominated the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers on both sides of the ball. This week, Washington upends the Carolina Panthers, 27-21, in Cam Newton’s return to the starting lineup for the Panthers.
Has this team turned a corner?
At 4-6, there is still a long way to go for Washington. But the defense has played more like the unit most expected it to be since a Week 7 loss to the Packers. It’s even more impressive considering Washington is playing well without both Chase Young and Montez Sweat. Washington hopes to get Sweat back within the next few weeks.
