Jameis Winston’s Hail Mary 49-yard TD to Marquez Callaway at the end of the first half had a 9.9% completion probability, the most improbable completion in the NFL this season.

Antonio Gibson has recorded at least 60 yards from scrimmage in 13 of his first 19 career-games, the third most in franchise history.

Want to hear a stat that definitely won’t make you feel any better?
Washington’s defense has an 84.6 pass-rush grade (2nd best in NFL) and a 39.1 coverage grade (2nd worst)
— Nick Akridge (@PFF_NickAkridge) October 11, 2021
This selfish and egotistical secondary is ruining one of the best interior pass rushing tandems in the NFL. They’re winning every single rep. Payne and Allen are kicking everyone’s ass with Ioannidis in rotation.
— Steve (@StevieWFT) October 11, 2021
Per TruMedia, Landon Collins was used at LB for 60 percent of his snaps vs. N.O.
On the season, he’s played LB 40.2%, SS 19.2% and FS 27.7%
Last year, which was cut short b/c of his Achilles injury, he played LB 34.9%.

Andy Reid on Ron Rivera: “He uses his personnel well… He knows their strengths.” Also mentioned that he has a strong coordinator on the defensive side in Jack Del Rio
— Pete Hailey (@PeteHaileyNBCS) October 11, 2021
I agree it’s clear that defense makes no sense to him right now.

Jamin Davis’ play-time is not increasing. In fact, he played less yesterday after Jon Bostic’s injury than he ever had before. #WashingtonFootball.
Week 1: 45 snaps
Week 2: 27 snaps
Week 3: 41 snaps
Week 4: 33 snaps
Week 5: 13 snaps— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 11, 2021
Your 1st round (1st round!!) linebacker got 13 (13!!) snaps yesterday, and that’s with the starting linebacker getting injured the week before.
Like, I’m perplexed…
— Not Robert Griffin (@Pseudo_RGIII) October 11, 2021
Ron seems a little irritated at some good questions. #WashingtonFootball
— Washington Wire (@Washington_Wire) October 11, 2021
I’d be ok with this if it had been one or two games. But we’re five games into the season now and each week Washington has “four or five” bad plays that result in touchdowns or explosive plays. The other good plays don’t matter if you’re giving up 4 or 5 big TDs every week https://t.co/5pxcrivuOv
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) October 11, 2021
My high school coach would bench me if I did this
— MK (@mikeyxkou) October 10, 2021
The Saints had 369 yards of offense Sunday; 153 came on three plays. Obviously, those three plays seem to happen in each game. So: 52 plays averaged 4.15 yards per play; three plays averaged 51.
— John Keim (@john_keim) October 11, 2021
Ron Rivera just rhetorically asked, “who else am I going to go to?”
Jeremy Reaves interests me for one. Perhaps more Cam Curl? He was on the field for fewer snaps than Landon Collins and Bobby McCain yesterday.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 11, 2021
For the record, if I were D-Coordinator, Reaves and Curl would be my safety tandem. I also would play bump and run coverage at corner (no 10-yard cushions) and not substitute players as often unless they were gassed (Settle and Ioannidis would be in my rotation though). ♂️
— Lake Lewis Jr (@LakeLewis) October 11, 2021
Truth is I’ve lost more in this game than I’ve won, but those falls taught me how to get back up! I’ll never fold

Also, for those wondering on Collins in coverage and why ever deep middle. The only time I saw him responsible for deep middle was on the TD. try disguising to fool. caught napping by quick count. Otherwise, McCain solo. Collins used a LOT in box as de-facto LB, covering RB or TE
— John Keim (@john_keim) October 11, 2021
And, yes, if that keeps happening there’s a disconnect. either something isn’t being explained right or whatever…

I don’t understand the plan with Curtis Samuel. He played 5 snaps yesterday before being shut down.
He played one game after missing months. Then couldn’t practice for days. Then he played and could finish the game. His groin doesn’t seem to be healing. How long do you do this?
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 11, 2021
It will not be a long-term injury for Trey Lance, but he will stay around during the bye week and be evaluated late this week. At worst, it would be a one- or two-week injury, coach Kyle Shanahan said.

Giants’ HC Joe Judge on Saquon Barkley’s injured ankle: “In terms of the X-rays that came back, (it was) better news than it could’ve been for us, so it was a little bit of a sigh of relief with a couple of things just knowing the player and what he’s battled through.”

I’m highlighting Diggs being ultra calm and confident in this situation. That’s not easy.

If John Harbaugh would’ve instructed Lamar to take a knee four times so that the Ravens could try to get the ball back and break the 100-yard rushing record, it would’ve been the greatest moment in NFL history.

Jon Gruden has left the @Raiders organization in light of NY Times article revealing homophobic and offensive emails he sent while at ESPN. He and the team knew of emails on Friday, and they did not intervene and he coached them Sunday, for what we now know is the final time
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) October 12, 2021
To recap, Jon Gruden:
1) Used racist tropes against an NFLPA exec
2) Called Goodell a homophobic slur
3) Wanted Eric Reid blackballed for kneeling
4) Suggested the first openly gay player shouldn’t be in the league
5) Slammed concussion mitigation effortshttps://t.co/ZvfI6jpm4b pic.twitter.com/91FNpFic5s— Emma Vigeland (@EmmaVigeland) October 12, 2021
Friday’s leak was the first torpedo the NFL fired at Gruden. He tried to fix the damage instead of abandoning ship, even though he knew how many other torpedos were in the water.
