The Washington Football Team dropped to 2-5 on the 2021 season after Sunday’s 24-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Much like last week’s game against Kansas City, Washington was competitive with Green Bay throughout the first half. A late touchdown with mere seconds on the clock in the second quarter gave the Packers a 14-7 lead heading into halftime.
Washington would start the second half on offense, and the way it was moving the ball was encouraging. However, two plays to open the third quarter changed the trajectory of this game for Washington. On the first play, Antonio Gibson trips and gains just six yards, with plenty of open field in front of him.
On the next play, quarterback Taylor Heinicke is sacked and fumbles the football. Green Bay recovers and scores a few plays later.
The third quarter was a disastrous one for Washington.
