NFL Sunday includes a notable college football head coaching move.
According to Yahoo! Sports college football insider Pete Thamel, the Washington Huskies are moving on from head coach Jimmy Lake.
Lake, in his second season at Washington, was suspended for shoving a player on the sideline earlier this season. A new report alleged that it wasn’t the first time Lake had shoved a player.
The firing is now official, per reports.
This is done now, per sources. Lake’s tenure is over. https://t.co/dnysmDNx1A

It will be very interesting to see where Washington goes with the hire. Lake was a longtime assistant coach at the program before taking over for Chris Petersen.
“Jimmy Lake is out at Washington. One of the best jobs on the West Coast is open. There’s a bunch of intriguing options from the Mountain West but also a few in the Pac-12,” Bruce Feldman tweeted on Sunday.

It’s been a pretty crazy season for major college football head coaches in the state of Washington.

It was a bizarre tenure at Washington for Lake, that is for sure.
Highlights of Jimmy Lake’s bizarre run at Washington included:
• Winning his division in his first year
• Never playing in a conference title game
• Never playing in a bowl game
• Never playing school’s main rival
• Getting fired without cause for $9M pic.twitter.com/cuSPBgXfWq— RedditCFB (@RedditCFB) November 14, 2021
Washington is 4-6 on the season.
The Huskies will finish the year with games against Colorado and Washington State.
