The on-field portion of the offseason kicks off Friday when the Washington Commanders open rookie minicamp. That means Washington fans will see rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in the burgundy and gold for the first time.
The Commanders drafted nine players in the 2024 NFL draft, including six in the first three rounds. Washington also signed 11 undrafted free agents. An unspecified number of tryout players will also be on hand in Ashburn for the minicamp.
While most of the anticipation is on Daniels, new head coach Dan Quinn and his staff also hit the field for the first time in Washington.
In preparation for the rookie minicamp, the Commanders released three players on Tuesday to meet the 90-man roster deadline. Teams with a player in the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, which Washington has, can keep an extra player, as they have a roster exemption.
