It’s the announcement the entire country has been waiting for: Who is this year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year going to be? There were options this year: Brock Bowers, Malik Nabers, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Bucky Iriving, and others. But when it comes down to the wire, there can be only one winner. This year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year is officially Jayden Daniels!

Daniels released his own statement:
“I want to thank my family and friends for their love and support,” said Daniels. “I also want to thank my coaches and teammates. I would not be able to accept this award without you. I am honored and blessed to be named the 2024 Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Year. Thank you to all the fans who took the time to vote for me all season, it is truly a privilege to play for you and I can’t wait to see everyone again in 2025!”
The Commanders selected Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He recorded the highest completion percentage by a qualified rookie quarterback ever, the most rushing yards by a rookie quarterback in NFL history, and the fourth-highest passer rating by a qualified rookie quarterback all-time. He also led all qualified rookie quarterbacks in passer rating (100.1), completion percentage (69.0), rushing yards (891) and rushing touchdowns (six), and ranked second in passing yards (3,568) and touchdown passes (25).
We won’t delve into the rest of Daniels’ stats here; we all know that’s the least of what he brings to the table. Daniels deserves this award not just because he out-performed every other rookie, but because he elevated his team in more ways than any single player has ever done. He is truly a generational talent who is also humble and gracious.
