Commanders Reacts Survey: Looking ahead to Day 1 & Day 2 of the draft

April 23, 2024 by Hogs Haven

poll questions!!

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Washington Commanders fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in regular email surveys.

In this week’s Reacts survey, we’re asking two questions.

Question 1

We’ve listed 8 positions and asked you to name the one that shouldn’t drafted in the first three rounds of the draft. Remember that the Commanders have 6 picks in those 3 rounds (Nos. 2, 36, 40, 67, 78, and 100). Two common reasons for not drafting a position are that the team already has sufficient talent at the position, or that the position value is not high enough. With respect to positional value, we all know that kickers, punters and long snappers don’t have high positional value while quarterbacks do. Ponder for a moment which of the listed positions Adam Peters should stay away from on Days 1 & 2, and then make your choice.

Question 2

Put on your Carnac the Magnificent hat. Washington currently has one pick in the first round and FIVE Day 2 picks, but those numbers can change if Adam Peters engages in any trades. You get to predict how many Day 2 draft selections the Commanders will actually make.

Comments & Results

Of course, we invite you to answer the survey questions below, but also feel free to expand on your answers and provide nuance in the comments section. I rely on those comments when discussing the results of the survey when they are posted in a separate article the next few days. I will be interested to see your reasons both for the position you think the team should avoid drafting and your reasoning behind the number of draft picks you think the team will make if it is anything other than five.
