After losing in the Super Bowl this year, the Kansas City Chiefs could trade former first-round pick Felix Anudike Uzomah before the 2025 regular season. NFLTradeRumors believes the defensive end could be on the trade block following a disastrous back-to-back campaign with the Chiefs, as they have one of the deepest trenches groups in the league. Originally selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the former Kansas State product came into the league hoping to replicate the energy that other linemen like Chris Jones and George Karlaftis have, but hasn’t been able to live up to the hype. This is why the Chiefs finally made the move to re-sign Mike Danna to a new contract last year, so this could likely spell the end of Anudike Uzomah if he doesn’t have a breakout year this season.
It’s unusual for the Chiefs to give up on a player they got from two years ago, but the team is in a logjam at the defensive line position. Kansas City must make it easier for itself to decide what to do about the longevity of this trenches unit. After recording just three sacks across two seasons, it might just be unacceptable for the Chiefs to keep him on the team any longer. They will trade to trade him first to these five rosters, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone if the team releases the defensive end in the future.

Could Chiefs Trade Former First Rounder Felix Anudike Uzomah? – 5 Possible Fits
Potential Next Teams
New Orleans Saints
Because of their depleted offense, the New Orleans Saints will need to lean on the defense to keep them in ball games. After trading for Davon Godchaux this offseason, the team might be looking for more defensive line bolster, and Felix Anudike-Uzomah could fit the bill. Khalen Saunders hasn’t been able to live up to expectations, while Cameron Jordan is still playing at his peak. Uzomah might not completely improve this line, but he’s another possible capable body to increase their chances.
Washington Commanders
It’s been arguably a horrible offseason as far as adding any defensive difference-makers. Between adding Javon Kinlaw and Deatrich Wise Jr., the Commanders aren’t looking like real competitors. The offense might be what keeps them alive, but they must be great on both ends of the ball. While Uzomah won’t be the best addition, it’s better than what they have to replace Dante Fowler Jr., who led the team in sacks last season.
Carolina Panthers
Meanwhile, the Panthers have been heavily upgrading the defensive line after signing Bobby Brown and Tershawn Wharton to finally give Derrick Brown the relief he needed last season before his gruesome injury. The Panthers’ defense was horrible, and it’s time to bolster it. Uzomah pairing with Wharton could bring a potential high-caliber defensive threat to a possible playoff appearance.
Los Angeles Chargers
Head Coach Jim Harbaugh wants to win games in the trenches, but it doesn’t look like it after losing both Poona Ford and Morgan Fox. Between Khalil Mack, Teair Tart, Bud Dupree, Otito Ogbonnia and Da’Shawn Hand, this doesn’t look like a Jesse Minster defense that wants to make an impact in the AFC. The Chiefs will never trade to the Chargers, but it’s hard to ignore the need for a defensive playmaker.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens need more bolstering in their defensive line as well. Broderick Washington and Travis Jones aren’t enough to give Nnamdi Madubuike the stability he needs. Uzomah won’t join the Ravens in a trade, but if he becomes a free agent, he might be worth the risk to salvage this trenches unit that was once explosive in 2023.
