The Dallas Cowboys are expecting to get a major offensive piece back from injury for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Cowboys VP Stephen Jones appeared on 105.3 The Fan earlier today and provided an encouraging update on All-Pro offensive tackle Tyron Smith. Smith has missed the last three games while dealing with an ankle injury.
According to Jones, Smith will be in the starting lineup Thursday afternoon “barring some unforeseen setback this week.”
The Cowboys expect LT Tyron Smith (ankle) to play against the Raiders.
Cowboys VP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan: “Barring some unforeseen setback this week, he should be ready to play this Thursday.”
They do not think this is the type of injury that will linger all season.

The Cowboys have quality depth on the offensive line, but getting Smith back will help tremendously. Before injuries limited him to two games in 2020, Smith made seven straight Pro Bowls from 2013-19 and earned All-Pro honors in two of those seasons.
While it looks like Dallas will have Smith available against Las Vegas, the same can not be said for star wide receiver Amari Cooper. Cooper is currently on the Reserve/COVID-19 list; he didn’t play yesterday and won’t be eligible to come off the list until after Thursday.
CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys’ other standout receiver, left Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with a concussion. Jones said he is “doing really well,” though that doesn’t guarantee Lamb will be cleared to play Thursday.
