Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels, and others talk about Terry McLaurin reporting to training camp

July 27, 2025 by Hogs Haven

Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels and other players talk to the media before and after training camp practice

The Washington Commanders are in Ashburn, VA for their fourth day of training camp practices. This is the first day fans will be at practice, and practices have been moved up to 8 am for the next three days due to the heat.

Terry McLaurin has reported to camp, ending his hold out, and starting his hold in. He is still seeking a new deal, but he will now be able to attend meetings, and won’t be getting fined $50k per day he’s not at camp. McLaurin was placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List due to an ankle injury.

Dan Quinn spoke to reporters before the start of training camp, and then appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter after. Jayden Daniels, Zach Ertz, and Von Miller were also featured on ESPN after practice.

Terry McLaurin reports and goes on PUP list(ankle):

Dan Quinn addressed Terry McLaurin showing up. Says they spoke yesterday. Would not answer if McLaurin would start practicing when his ankle is healed.

My take: This is now a hold-in. pic.twitter.com/gQOD3R9kEx

Dan Quinn said Terry McLaurin has reported to camp. SAid he’s dealing with an ankle injury and will work on the side with trainers. No more fines. Again, not sure what this means for progress towards a deal.

Terry McLaurin has an ankle injury. He will be working with the trainers to get back. Similar to what Sam Cosmi is doing.

Terry McLaurin was dealing with an ankle situation lingering in the end of last season.

— CWallSports (@cwallse) July 27, 2025

On the business side, [GM Adam Peters] and the guys are still working hard with Terry and his reps. While on PUP, it’s just like we do with other guys — work with the trainers to get back as soon as he can.

It was great. I’m really pumped that he’s here.

No resentment:

Quinn says there’s no resentment over Terry McLaurin’s holdout, which ended today, and that his focus is “keeping the main thing the main thing between players and coaches.” Says McLaurin seemed “very much like himself” when seeing him today. Took time to ‘check in with the man.’

Line of scrimmage league:

Dan Quinn: “The NFL is a line of scrimmage league, and you’ve got to be rock solid on the line of scrimmage.”@MoveTheSticks and @BuckyBrooks approve this message, probably.

Bulking up for Year 2:

“They’re on my team, but you’ve got Von Miller, Daron Payne, guys like Frankie Luvu, Bobby Wagner running after you. I’m glad they don’t have to tackle me, but I know I gotta go up against some people this year that are probably trying to get after me a little bit so I gotta be… https://t.co/HmLKiKWFwO

Terry McLaurin in the building:

It’s good to see him anytime he’s in the building. Hopefully we can get him out here [soon].
