ESPN’s computer model, the Football Power Index, has updated its projection for the College Football Playoff following an eventful Week 5.
Alabama and Georgia continue to look like the country’s two best teams. The Crimson Tide took care of Ole Miss on Saturday, while the Bulldogs blew out Arkansas.
Elsewhere, No. 3 Oregon was upset by Stanford, as the Ducks’ playoff chances took a major hit. Cincinnati, meanwhile, seriously improved its standing, as the Bearcats took down Notre Dame.
ESPN’s computed model has the following four teams as the frontrunners for the College Football Playoff right now:
- Georgia Bulldogs – 87 percent chance
- Alabama Crimson Tide – 85 percent chance
- Oklahoma Sooners – 48 percent chance
- Michigan Wolverines – 34 percent chance
Cincinnati and Ohio State come in at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. The Bearcats have a 32 percent chance, while the Buckeyes have a 30 percent chance.
It should be a very fun next two months in the college football world.
