Fans, media react on Twitter during & after Washington's win over Panthers in Week 11

November 22, 2021 by Redskins Wire

The Washington Football Team defeated the Carolina Panthers, 27-21, on Sunday to improve to 4-6 on the season. For the second straight week, Washington received strong quarterback play, a good running game and an overall solid defensive performance.

Don’t look now, but Washington is in the playoff hunt. Yes, that’s true, but there is a long way to go. Washington still has seven games remaining, including five against NFC East foes, in a division where almost everyone is playing well right now.

It was another strong performance from quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Heinicke completed 16 of 22 passes for 203 yards with three touchdowns. He managed the effectively and kept the ball out of harm’s way.

As you might expect, Washington NFL Twitter was a mostly positive place on Sunday. However, fans were certainly not happy with running back Antonio Gibson after a fumble and when he ran out of bounds.

Speaking of Twitter, here are some of the top reactions from Washington’s Week 11 win over the Panthers.

That boy good let’s gooo Heinicke @WashingtonNFL LETS GOOOOO CAN I GET A HAIL YEAH

— Chris Baker (@cbakerswaggy) November 21, 2021

Taylor Heinicke, last 2 weeks:
38-48, 413 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT, 130.3 passer rating

He’s put those stats up against the teams ranked 2nd and 9th in passing defense by net yards per attempt

— ProFootballReference (@pfref) November 21, 2021

Oh, BTW, Taylor Heinicke outplayed Newton today. Yes, Newton played well, but the attention has all been on Newton. Heinicke was better. Carry on.

— Washington Wire (@Washington_Wire) November 21, 2021

Gotta love Heinicke. Kid is a baller and plays with so much damn heart. It’s hard NOT to root for him.

— The Burgundy Ghost (@HmBrewer72) November 21, 2021

Call me crazy but, I think I’d pay Heinicke before Baker

— Boston Connor (@BostonConnr) November 21, 2021

After the Falcons game, I tweeted that night the Taylor Heinicke had to clean up some reckless throws.
I was not a hater; simply truthful.
Today:
9.4 YPA, 141.3 Rating, 92.5 QBR
Wow!
Both sides should always be told; it’s called being honest.#WFT @AlGaldi

Rewatching Taylor Heinicke and his confidence explodes off the screen.

He’s becoming more comfortable presnap, accurate in tight windows, and the results are obvious the last two weeks. He’s playing at the highest level of his career with the biggest of chips on his shoulder.

Antonio Gibson ran hard today. But running out of bounds goes up there with his lost fumble as really bad plays. #WashingtonFootball

— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) November 21, 2021

Gibson runs out of bounds. Not a difficult task. 7th grade move.

— steve (@StevieWFT) November 21, 2021

Lost fumble, going out of bounds. Horrendous day for Gibson.

— Eat Sleep WFT (@WFTTalk) November 21, 2021

Why tf would u run out of bounds Gibson, he should’ve stayed benched 🤬

— Bi’Jon 🦇 (@onlyBiJon) November 21, 2021

3rd fumble inside the 20 from Gibson. 5th fumble of the year.
But hey, we got some good pub with our running backs coach hire.
Yay.

Terry McLaurin just picking up where all of the OSU receivers left off yesterday against MSU!! They still ain’t been stopped.

— Ryan Clark (@Realrclark25) November 21, 2021

You know what I like about Heinicke? He carries this tough persona and isn’t afraid to show emotions. He’s a real guy. Unlike that “always smiling even when I lose fraud that used to play QB here!
