The Washington Football Team (2-4) is back on the road after consecutive home games to face the Green Bay Packers (5-1) in Week 7 at Lambeau Field.
Can Washington play a complete game on both sides of the football and pull off a season-saving upset?
Sure, just don’t bet on a perfect game from Washington. What has this team done in 2021 that makes you think it can finally put everything together and beat one of the NFL’s best teams on the road?
Washington’s offense should be able to move the ball on Sunday against the Packers. However, quarterback Taylor Heinicke needs to play turnover-free football. Is it possible? Yes. But Heinicke needs plenty of help, especially from a struggling defense.
I do believe Washington hangs tough in this game, especially in the first half. Unfortunately, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is simply too good not to attack Washington’s weak secondary for big plays. Star wide receiver Davante Adams will have a big game because he always has a big game. The key is not to allow any of Green Bay’s other receivers to get behind the secondary.
In the end, Green Bay’s running game will wear down Washington late to pick up its sixth consecutive victory. The good news for Washington, at least, is it will cover the spread.
