Bryson DeChambeau might be good for the game of golf when it comes to getting eyeballs, but he’s clearly not the most popular guy.
Most of that is his own fault, of course.
Take what just happened in the final round of the BMW Championship on Sunday. DeChambeau called out at his playing partner, Patrick Cantlay, to stop walking so he could hit an approach shot.
It’s pretty rare to see something like that happen on the course.
Bryson DeChambeau: Patrick, can you stop walking?
Patrick Cantlay: Walks in birdie putt.

It was an eventful rest of the hole, too. Cantlay went on to birdie the hole, while DeChambeau’s approach shot came up short.

Like him or hate him, you can’t argue with this: Bryson DeChambeau gets more people talking about the game of golf.
Gonna be really interesting what Bryson has to say after the round about Cantlay walking while he’s hitti-…..
ah, that’s right.

Cantlay has walked all the way to the green before Bryson hits his approach a couple of times. Bryson finally had enough.
Mind games. Great battle.

DeChambeau and Cantlay are currently tied at -27 through 15 holes on Sunday. It’s shaping up to be a pretty great finish.
The final round of the BMW Championship can be seen on NBC.
