Gonzaga’s basketball program received concerning news this Tuesday regarding Mark Few. According to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, the former AP Coach of the Year is facing a DUI charge.
Few was pulled over on Monday night at North Fourth Street and East Hanley Avenue in Dalton Gardens. The police said they pulled Few over after receiving a report that he was driving erratically and speeding.
Even though Few refused to complete field sobriety tests, he did provide breath samples of .119 and .120, which are both over the legal limit of .08.
Those breath samples line up with the police’s report that Few showed “several signs of intoxication.”

Representatives at Gonzaga have not responded to a request for comment from the Spokesman-Review. We’d imagine the school will release a statement at some point in the near future.
With the 2021-22 college basketball season just two months away, it’s unclear how this situation will affect Few’s status with the team.
Few is undoubtedly one of the best coaches in the country. Since taking over as the head coach of the Bulldogs in 1999, he has won 630 games and has proven that he can consistently take the program to the NCAA Tournament.
We’ll provide more updates on Few’s situation when they’re available.
