The Colts had four quarterbacks on the roster on Tuesday morning. That number dwindled down to three by Tuesday afternoon.
Indianapolis waived quarterback Brett Hundley on Tuesday afternoon, per Jim Ayello of the IndyStar. The Colts, in the meantime, are moving ahead with Carson Wentz, Jacob Eason and the injured Sam Ehlinger.
There’s still a bit of uncertainty surrounding Wentz. He made a rather miraculous recovery from a foot injury he suffered early on in the preseason. Some speculate he’ll be available for the Colts’ Week 1 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks. If he’s unable to give it a go, Eason would get the start.
Hundley, meanwhile, is available. There’s a chance he signs with the Colts’ practice squad ahead of the 2021 season.

It’s going to be an interesting season in Indianapolis. Some believe the Colts are a darkhorse Super Bowl contender, but that will likely depend on Carson Wentz’s availability and play.
The Colts are hoping Wentz can bounce back after a couple rough seasons in Philly. He went 3-8 as the Eagles’ starter last season, throwing for 2,620 yards and 16 touchdowns with 15 interceptions. A year prior, he had 4,039 yards and 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
If Wentz can play like he did in 2019 this upcoming season, the Colts are in for a treat. He’s a talented pocket passer capable of performing well in big-time games. His health remains a question mark ahead of the 2021 season, though.
The Colts begin the 2021 season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Seattle Seahawks.
