Look: Chris Olave Made Ohio State History Today

November 20, 2021 by The Spun

Chris Olave in the College Football Playoff against Clemson.

Wide receiver Chris Olave continues etch his name into Ohio State’s record books. On Saturday, the Buckeyes senior passed another OSU great.

After reeling in a 43-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud against the Spartans, Olave broke David Boston’s Ohio State record for career touchdown receptions.

The score brought Olave to 35 career receiving TD’s, passing Boston’s 34.

Olave caught two first quarter touchdowns to break the record. His 13 TD’s (and counting) lead the nation and surpass his previous high of 12 back in 2019.

Not bad for a three-star recruit out of California.

Since coming to Columbus, Olave has turned himself into one of the most explosive weapons in college football and a projected first round pick in the NFL draft.

Olave’s touchdowns have come from three different eras of Ohio State quarterbacks: Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields, and Stroud.

OHIO STATE DOMINATES No. 7 MICHIGAN STATE, 56-7 😳

The Buckeyes all-time receiving record stood for 23 years before Saturday’s offensive explosion over Michigan State.

Ohio State made a statement at “The Shoe.” No. 4 OSU hung 56 on No. 7 Sparty, including a 29-31, 393 yard, six TD stat line from the Buckeyes freshman QB.

Ohio State’s dismantling of Michigan State should bode well for them when the College Football Playoff Committee meets next.

The Buckeyes face another Big Ten test to finish off the regular season against bitter rival Michigan. Coach Jim Harbaugh has the No. 6 Wolverines sitting at 9-1 currently.

The best rivalry in college football continues next Saturday at noon ET on Fox.
