The Ohio State faithful knew something was up at the end of the game against Michigan State.
Starting quarterback C.J. Stroud was pulled since the game was virtually over and that meant that true freshman Quinn Ewers got to make his collegiate debut.
The Buckeye fans saw Ewers was in the game and gave him a good roar when he took his first snap.

Ewers was the top-ranked quarterback for the 2021 recruiting class and also was the top-ranked player in his home state (Texas). Even better, Ewers was the top overall recruit for the class as well, regardless of position.
The quarterback carousel with the roster should be interesting after this season, considering how good Stroud has been and how Ewers will be ready sooner rather than later.
Stroud continued his excellence as the Buckeyes dismantled the Spartans, 56-7. He nearly had a perfect completion percentage (32-of-35) and finished with 432 yards and six touchdowns.
OSU is now one inch closer to clinching its way back to the B1G Championship Game. The last hurdle remaining is rival Michigan next Saturday from Ann Arbor.
If that game is a blowout, perhaps Ewers could come in again to play a snap or two.
