There aren’t many things Oklahoma and Texas fans will agree on this Saturday, but there was a brief moment during College GameDay where the two sides joined forces.
This weekend’s edition of College GameDay is taking place outside of the Cotton Bowl to preview the Red River Showdown. The atmosphere thus far has been electric.
During the first hour of the broadcast, Oklahoma and Texas fans collectively chanted “SEC” since both programs are heading to the best conference in college football.
Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit were awfully impressed with the fans outside of the Cotton Bowl, as Herbstreit said “That didn’t take long.”
Here’s the video of Oklahoma and Texans fans uniting to chant “SEC” on College GameDay:

As of now, the Longhorns and Sooners are set to become members of the SEC starting July 1, 2025. That timeline could change in the future, though.
While this was a really cool moment on College GameDay, there’s no doubt that Oklahoma and Texas fans will put this chant to the side once the Red River Showdown kicks off this afternoon.
The Sooners will try to stay perfect on the season, whereas the Longhorns will try pick up their first Red River Showdown victory under head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Kickoff for this year’s Oklahoma-Texas game is at 12 p.m. ET on ABC.
