Earlier this week, Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya took on Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Sanayev in the semifinals of the 57kg class at the Tokyo Olympic games.
Ravi ultimately claimed victory by fall, but what happened before that was far more shocking.
Photos from the event show Sanayev biting down on Ravi’s arm as they battled for position. The Indian wrestler was reportedly unfazed by the cheap move — despite the bite mark looking incredibly painful — moving on to assure his country a medal in the event.

Ravi put up a decent fight in yesterday’s gold medal match, but ultimately fell to Russian Olympic Committee wrestler Zavur Uguev.
This silver marks one of five total medals for India so far in this year’s games (two silver, three bronze).
