A tweet from a former Nebraska Huskers football player is going viral on social media following the team’s Week 0 loss.
Nebraska fell to Illinois, 30-22, to open up the regular season. The Huskers are now 12-21 under Scott Frost.
Former Huskers football player Kieron Williams, who played at Nebraska from 2014-17, called out the program following the Week 0 loss.
“So they fired Coach Bo after we BEAT Iowa on the ROAD… These boys lose 20 games and everything is all good? Somebody please help me understand,” he tweeted.

Williams was a true freshman in 2014 – Pelini’s last with the Huskers.
Pelini was Nebraska’s head coach from 2008-14. He went 67–27 as the program’s head coach, winning at least nine games every season. The Huskers had three 10-win seasons under Pelini.
Many fans have taken to social media to point out Pelini’s record in the wake of the disappointing results with Scott Frost.
There’s no going back now, though. The Huskers will be led by Scott Frost, at least for the rest of the season (barring a major surprise).
Another disappointing season could result in a coaching change in 2022, though.
