It has been a very weird afternoon for Kansas City Chiefs defensive standout Tyrann Mathieu, and his team’s game won’t start for another hour.
Less than three hours before the Chiefs’ showdown with the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City added Mathieu to the injury report. The All-Pro safety was officially listed as “questionable” with a knee issue.
According to reports from those covering the game, Mathieu didn’t look great during a pregame workout. Then, he fired off a cryptic tweet minutes before the Chiefs released their inactive list.
“I ain’t got no friends in this s–t. I’m my daddy son,” Mathieu wrote.
I ain’t got no friends in this shit. I’m my daddy son.

What did it mean? Was the “Honey Badger” about to be sidelined?
The answer is no. Kansas City released its inactive list a few minutes ago, and Mathieu was not on it. He’ll dress and play, but it is worth monitoring how effective he’ll be.
In nine games this season, Mathieu has recorded 46 tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery. The Chiefs have won three games in a row and are now 6-4 on the season.
They’ll kick off against the 7-2 Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. ET this afternoon. FOX will broadcast the action.
