Mark Tyler’s 2025 Washington Commanders Draft Board

The 2025 NFL Draft is just two days away, and with that comes my Washington Commanders draft board. Like I do each year, I have ranked my prospects using the value vs. need approach. New to the 2025 draft board is my color-coded prospect index chart that I have been developing over the past few weeks.

This year’s draft is a bit unique to ones we have seen in the past as there are not as many “can’t miss” prospect as compared to recent years. I call this draft the “Personal Preference Draft” – meaning I have so many prospects in round one and early round two grouped very closely together, that it’s going to come down to the best fits and personal preference of the team drafting to see who they choose. Don’t be surprised if there is not a consensus BPA for many teams early on in this draft.

Below is a chart with my draft rankings for the eight positional groups that I view as team needs heading into this draft. My big board for rounds one-four will come from these rankings.

Despite you not seeing quarterback, tight end, center, and defensive tackle on this chart, Adam Peters may very well take one of those positions as more of a developmental player later on in the draft, or as an undrafted free agent.

In this chart and on my Big Board, I really chose to focus on draft prospects that I would target in rounds one-four. The gray shades below represent players who could be drafted later on depending on how our staff may view them, but the big focus here are BLUE, GREEN, PURPLE and ORANGE.

You will also see the KEY at the bottom right of the chart. Something I wanted to highlight here are prospects in the RED. These are prospects who either have a medical concern or have off-field/character concerns that could cause them to drop, or guys I do not have on my board despite the talent. One player who I didn’t include in the RED is Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons, who by all accounts is almost fully healed and ready to go, and I do not feel his draft position will be significantly compromised by his past injury.
