Knicks fans definitely will NOT overreact to the team’s first summer league games. Definitely not

Summer league is funny cuz it be 3 dudes on the court trying to “play the right way” and 7 others tryna make sure they don’t spend the winter in Uruguay at all times. Lol

Summer league rules are as follows: if a prospect I like is playing well it means everything and if a prospect I don’t like is playing well it means nothing because it’s just summer league

In the first game of this year’s Summer League schedule between Atlanta and Boston, the Hawks’ new rookie talent looked pretty solid. Despite his team falling to the Celtics 85-83, first-round pick Jalen Johnson put together an impressive performance — notching a double-double on a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Second-round pick Sharife Cooper also chipped in with nine points and six dimes.

The Raptors and Knicks showed off their rookie talent in the following game. Toronto’s No. 4 overall pick Scottie Barnes had a solid stat line, logging a double-double of his own with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. New York first-round pick Quinten Grimes was less impressive with just nine points on 3-11 shooting in the 89-79 loss.

Later tonight, Rockets No. 2 overall pick Jalen Green will face off against the Cavs’ No. 3 overall selection Evan Mobley. No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham and the Pistons will take on the Thunder’s duo of first-round picks: Josh Giddey (No. 6) and Tre Mann (No. 18).

A matchup between the Wizards and Pacers was postponed earlier today due to COVID-19 protocols.
