Maybe LaVar Ball was right. All three of his sons have carved out pretty successful basketball careers.
LaVar might be one of the most controversial figures in the NBA world. And he’s amassed plenty of haters, as a result. But you can’t argue with the results.
Lonzo – LaVar’s eldest son – is one of the best true points guards in the NBA right now and just recently inked a big-time four-year, $85 million contract with the Chicago Bulls. LaMelo, 19, won the 2021 NBA Rookie of the Year award after a terrific rookie campaign in which he scored 15.7 points, dished out 6.1 assists and grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game last season. Now, LiAngelo – LaVar’s middle son – is starting to make NBA headlines.
LiAngelo landed a deal with the Charlotte Hornets earlier this month to play for their Summer League team this offseason. He’s made the most of his opportunity so far. LiAngelo knocked down five 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in his debut Sunday night.

LaVar Ball was in attendance at LiAngelo’s debut on Sunday. He even sported a hat which read: “I told you so.” He was right.
Basketball fans praised LaVar for his devotion and consistent praise for his sons Sunday night.
LaVar Ball wearing an “I Told You So!” hat at Gelo’s first Summer League game is 💯.

85 Million Dollar Contract for Lonzo, Rookie of the Year for LaMelo. LaVar Ball is a Dad who told his kids that their biggest dreams were possible and actually meant it. Pretty awesome guy if we’re being honest… pic.twitter.com/YI9Jop511Z

They’re gonna have to make a movie about Lavar Ball if Gelo gets into the league too

Lavar Ball has already been vindicated by Lonzo getting a huge second contract and LaMelo being a potential generational great. Imagine if LiAngelo winds up being a rotation player in the league as a cherry on top. https://t.co/lTEzE5dIRw

It’s time for everyone to admit that Lavar Ball was right

LaVar Ball deserves a ton of credit. Outside of the Antetokounmpo family, how many other families have sent so many kids to the NBA?
We can’t wait to see what else LaVar and his sons have in store within the NBA world in years to come.
