As NFL teams trim their rosters down to their final 53, plenty of teams are going to make surprise cuts. And the New England Patriots might be no exception.
In a recent feature for Bleacher Report, NFL analyst Maurice Moton projected eight big names that could be released at the cut deadline. Among them was New England Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry, who could be cut if he isn’t traded.
Moton pointed out that Harry requested a trade from the Patriots back in July. That combined with a shoulder injury that will shelve him for several weeks could lead the Patriots to cut him.
“New England can keep Harry on the 53-man roster, move him to injured reserve and attempt to pull off a trade in a month or so, but the third-year wideout hasn’t done much to increase his value. In two preseason outings, he caught two passes for 23 yards. The Patriots may just release him if they’re not able to find a suitor before final cuts,” Moton wrote.

N’Keal Harry was the Patriots’ first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. But he’s had a hard time living up to where he was taken.
In two seasons, Harry has 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns.
While the Patriots don’t exactly have Randy Moss on their roster anymore, they have a number of players who may be able to step up if N’Keal Harry can’t.
Will Harry be a surprise cut from the Patriots at the deadline?
