The AGM, Day 3 draftees, and current players talk to the media
The 2024 NFL draft is over and the Washington Commanders have added 9 new players to their roster. GM Adam Peters spoke to the media after each of the first two days of the draft, but tasked his AGM Lance Newmark with the cleanup duty after the final day. Washington’s three drafted players also spoke to the media after they were drafted. The Commanders held their annual draft party at the National Harbor, and several current players spoke to the media there.

Assistant GM Lance Newmark addressing the media. Mentioned how the Commanders got players who have a lot of the same core beliefs on how to play football. Said that everyone had a “we” mentality to make the team better

Newmark highlighted LB Jordan Magee’s athleticism as a main factor. Also mentioned the team captain aspect.
Dominique Hampton sounds like he could be a safety they consider using at LB. That’s a position switch, should it happen, that Peters has executed before.

Hampton said he hoped he’d get drafted by Washington because he said Dan Quinn’s system was appealing. Likes that he can be used in a hybrid S/LB role close to the line.
