The Jacksonville Jaguars might be on the verge of trading a recent first-round pick.
According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, many executives believe the Jaguars are open to trading C.J. Henderson, the 9th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
It’s pretty surprising to hear an NFL team is open to trading a former first-round pick this early on in his career.
“Jacksonville has given impression in some league circles that it’s shopping Henderson, a high-pedigree player one year into rookie deal,” he reports.
“A source says things are good with the team and Henderson, who just returned from the Covid-19/reserve list. So maybe they hold onto him. But the team likes its corners and Henderson would have interest.”
A surprise: Multiple team execs believe #Jaguars corner C.J. Henderson — the ninth overall pick in 2020 — is available via trade. Jacksonville has given impression in some league circles that it’s shopping Henderson, a high-pedigree player one year into rookie deal.

Henderson, 22, was the 9th overall pick in 2020. He was a three-time All-SEC player at Florida.
NFL fans believe Henderson could be a big add if he’s healthy.
IF he’s fully recovered from his injury, CJ Henderson would be an amazing addition for any team.
Feels like there’s a little more to the situation but I’d definitely offer a day 2 pick to bring him over. pic.twitter.com/UmwHl1SRdG

Saints fans appear to have some interest, though they already have a C.J…
Me thinking about CJ Gardner-Johnson and CJ Henderson in the same secondary again: 😁😁😁
Me recording podcasts about CJ, CJ, PJ, and JT of defense and Coach CJ on offense: 🤬🤬🤬

The Chiefs are being mentioned, as well.
Chiefs trade their 2022 1st for CJ Henderson and Jacksonville’s (likely high) 2022 Fourth Round pick?
I’d think about it.

Meyer didn’t say much when asked about Henderson earlier this weekend.
Urban Meyer was very short when asked about CJ Henderson.
Reporter “will it be tough for him to overcome the miss time?”
Meyer “I don’t know”

It will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.
We’re about a month away from the start of the regular season.
