After a historic third season with the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Josh Allen was rewarded with a massive, $258 million contract extension.
Allen led the Bills to their first AFC East title since 1995 and first AFC Championship Game appearance since 1993. He threw for a franchise-record 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns while completing 69-percent of his passes.
The former No. 7 overall pick has shown remarkable growth in the years since the Bills traded up to draft him. But after making his first Pro Bowl, they’re ready to make it a permanent arrangement.
Not everyone is a Bills fan, but diehard NFL fans are collectively very happy for Allen. Many are extremely impressed by how he went from a lightly-recruited FCS quarterback to one of the highest-paid in NFL history:

After high school, Josh Allen had ZERO scholarship offers.
After JUCO, he sent this email to over 1,000 college coaches. He received ONE offer from Wyoming.
Today, he signed an extension worth $258 Million. pic.twitter.com/1L1tAjvshg

As a rookie in 2018, Josh Allen looked like a possible flop. He completed just 53-percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while going 5-6 in 11 starts.
But he quickly turned things around the following year, doubling his touchdown and win total while leading the Bills to the playoffs.
Then 2020 happened and Allen really emerged as one of the elite NFL quarterbacks. Allen went 13-3 as a starter, shattered records, dominated opponents on the field and led the Bills to a No. 2 offensive ranking.
And at 24 years old, Allen is poised to be very good for a very long time. Now he just has to do it.
