On Sunday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans accidentally handed Tom Brady’s 600th career touchdown ball to a fan. Eventually, the two sides worked out a deal for Brady to get the ball back.
The fan who was handed Brady’s 600th touchdown ball, Byron Kennedy, will receive an impressive haul in return for giving the ball back to the legendary quarterback.
According to Darren Rovell of The Action Network, Kennedy will receive two signed Tom Brady jerseys, a signed Brady helmet, a signed Mike Evans jersey, Evans’ cleats from Sunday’s game, $1,000 credit to the Bucs’ team store, two season tickets for the remainder of the 2021 season, and two season tickets for the 2022 season.
During this Tuesday’s appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked what he would’ve done if he was the fan who received Brady’s 600th touchdown ball. Jones would have held onto the ball and sold it whenever the value reached its peak price.
“I’d be hard to trade with,” Jones said, via Jon Machota. “I’d explain to everybody that that’s like asking for my baby. Then I’d tear-up for him a little bit (thinking) about how I’m gonna have that when I’m 90. And then after all that, then I’d take offers.”
Surprisingly, the NFL world really loves this response from Jones.
“There’s a reason he owns the Cowboys and we don’t,” Dan Pompei of The Athletic said.

Luckily for Brady, his 600th touchdown ball wasn’t handed to Jones. If that was the case, he would’ve had to pay millions of dollars just to get it back.
Would you have held onto the ball if you were in Kennedy’s shoes?
