The Los Angeles Chargers could use some star power on their offense, and this means they may target wide receiver Romeo Doubs in a trade. According to a report, Doubs could be the wideout that the Chargers need to elevate the supporting cast for quarterback Justin Herbert. While they did draft KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Tre Harris to build for their future, including signing veteran Keenan Allen to add some capable experience in this offensive group, they still need a true playmaker to light up the field. After the Packers signed Christian Watson to a new extension despite not taking a snap this season, it could only mean that Green Bay may trade Doubs either way at some point during the 2025 regular season.
It won’t happen anytime soon, as Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will miss multiple games due to a brutal injury suffered against the Washington Commanders. Meanwhile, the Chargers getting Doubs isn’t going to drastically change this team’s aerial attack, but he has a lot of momentum in his stride for a wideout that is projected to be a free agent next offseason. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Nevada product could benefit from a scenery change as Packers wideouts Matthew Golden and Savion Williams might become the future of this offense. If the Packers have no resources to extend Doubs for a new deal in a deep receiver group, they could trade him for some draft capital in return.

Other Possible Suitors
Dallas Cowboys
Since the Dallas Cowboys were very generous this past month after trading their generational pass-rusher Micah Parsons, they might together for one more blockbuster trade. The Cowboys have two of the hottest wide receivers in today’s league between CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, but Jalen Tolbert hasn’t shown that he can stay consistent. Sure, it’s still early in the season, but if the Cowboys want to make a true run in the postseason, they must sacrifice some of their draft capital to trade for one more true wide receiver playmaker.
While Doubs has dealt with injury issues in the past and isn’t the most explosive weapon, he is a true deep threat that could help Dak Prescott feel comfortable slinging in the endzone.
Kansas City Chiefs
Despite their 0-2 start this season, the Kansas City Chiefs are arguably way better than what their record shows. While they dealt with injury and suspension issues to their top receivers in Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice, it’s time for them to turn up the noise. It won’t be the last that you might see from Patrick Mahomes, as it’s unlikely they’ll go 0-3 at this stage. Tyquan Thornton has had his moments on the field, but if they add Doubs as soon as they can, this could easily change everything for Kansas City as far as the offense’s confidence.
Washington Commanders
However, the Washington Commanders are still in the WR market since they did bring Kendrick Bourne for a visit a few weeks ago. Terry McLaurin hasn’t looked the same since his contract extension, unfortunately for the Commanders. He might need some separation in the aerial attack between him, Deebo Samuel, Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane.
