On Friday, the Green Bay Packers seemingly got a boon for their game against the Cincinnati Bengals as star left guard Elgton Jenkins returned to practice after missing the previous two games. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that he’s ready to return just yet.
Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Bengals, the Packers announced that Jenkins is officially out for the game. Jenkins has been battling an ankle injury and barely practiced over the past few weeks.
Last year, Jenkins made the Pro Bowl while blocking for Aaron Rodgers and leading an offensive line that gave only 20 sacks. The third year guard was a second-round pick by the Packers in the 2019 NFL Draft and made the All-Rookie Team that season.
Jenkins isn’t the only Packers player the team will be missing in Week 5 against the Bengals. Newly-minted Packers linebacker Jaylon Smith will also be inactive for the game.

The Green Bay Packers are 3-1 and riding a three-game winning streak. They’ve averaged 30 points a game in those three games, and their defense has been stout too, averaging only 20 points allowed in that span.
Aaron Rodgers has been as sharp as ever, but is getting hit a little bit more than last year. He’s been sacked eight times through four games.
The Packers might feel the loss of Elgton Jenkins as they take on a Bengals defense that ranks No. 8 in the league.
The game will be played at 1 p.m. EST and will air on FOX.
