The New England Patriots have a winnable game this afternoon, but they’re going to have to beat the Houston Texans with a makeshift offensive line.
New England put Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Brown on injured reserve on Saturday and had also ruled out right guard Shaq Mason.
With the team also not activating left tackle Isaiah Wynn or left guard Michael Onwenu off the Reserve/COVID-19 list, the Patriots will officially go into today’s game missing four starters on the offensive line.
Veteran David Andrews will be the only usual starter taking the field against Houston. He’ll be flanked by some combination of Justin Herron, Ted Karras, James Ferentz, Yasir Durant and Yodny Cajuste.
The Patriots did not activate either LT Isaiah Wynn or LG Michael Onwenu off of the Reserve/COVID-19 list. They’ll officially be down four starting offensive linemen against the Texans on Sunday.
Also, OT Trent Brown was placed on IR, meaning he’s out for 3 games minimum.

At 1-3, the Patriots desperately need to beat a bad Texans team to keep themselves in the mix in the AFC East. It certainly won’t be easy to do that with the offensive line in flux the way it is.
New England and Houston will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
