Earlier this offseason, quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges was released by the Los Angeles Rams.
Despite being released by one NFL team, Hodges has done everything possible to land a new job. Earlier this month, Hodges worked out for the New York Giants, who were reportedly looking for depth.
The Giants were looking to add a quarterback to their practice squad with only Daniel Jones and backup Mike Glennon on the active roster. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out with the Giants.
Don’t feel too bad for Hodges, though. He had another opportunity, this time with the team New York beat in the Super Bowl in its last two appearances.
According to ESPN’s New England Patriots reporter, Hodges worked out with the Patriots on Tuesday afternoon.
… TE Nakia Griffin-Stewart (Pittsburgh), QB Devlin Hodges (Samford), DB Joshua Moon (Georgia Southern), DT Destiny Vaeao (Washington State) and WR Connor Wedington (Stanford) were also in for free-agent workouts in New England (2/2).

After going undrafted during the 2019 NFL draft, Hodges landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he managed to make the team. After Ben Roethlisberger went down with an injury, he was thrust into a role on the team.
During the 2019 season, Hodges started several games for the Steelers, completing completed 62.5-percent of his passes for 1,063 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions. The Steelers went 3-3 in games Hodges started.
After a stint on the team’s practice squad last year, Hodges landed with the Rams.
Now he could find a new home up north.
