Player Overview
Tre Harris was a two-star, two-athlete (basketball) recruit from Ovey Comeaux HS (LA) who started his collegiate career with Louisiana Tech University. After a COVID-shortened 2020 season, Harris became the starter in 2021. The following year, he made strides with a 65 reception/935 receiving yards/10 touchdown season, earning first team conference honors. He transferred as a four-star recruit to Ole Miss University where he continued to improve. Tre was on the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, college football’s best wide receiver, each of his last two seasons with the Rebels. Even with an injury-shortened 2024 season, Harris totaled 60 receptions / 1,030 receiving yards / 7 TDs in 8 games. Harris garnered conference and All-American honors in his final season.
Tre Harris is the picturesque model of a X-receiver. He is a well-built, strong receiver who loves fighting off defenders and catching downfield throws. Harris thrives on vertical routes and can be crafty with double moves in his arsenal. Limitations to Harris’ game can stem from having the most nimble feet to change directions on a dime. Additionally, his limited route tree is a product of Ole Miss’ offense not demanding much of him.
While Harris does not shy away from contact, longer physical corners can cause problems. Though any team that selects Harris would bet on Harris’ capability to track the ball and use his body to shield defenders from contesting the catch. Harris is a prototypical X wide receiver that has slowly faded into the background of draft discussions as he does not possess the elite speed and talent one looks for a feature receiver. He is projected to be a Day 2 selection, a starter for any team needing a WR2.

- Has all the physical tools of a physical wide receiver.
- Loves winning routes downfield. Shown to be able to do so from multiple positions.
- Shows off crafty double moves that can fool defenders. Sets them up with head and shoulder fakes.
- Can break through weak press coverage and keep separation with his hand fighting.
- Physical red zone target. Knows how to wall off defenders in the red zone.
- Shown to be able to elude defenders or drag them for extra yards.

- Missed last 5 games due to a lower body injury.
- Lacks desired short area quickness.
- Changes in directions are more rounded than sharp.

How Will He Fit On The Team
Washington enters the 2025 season with one of the best projected receiving duos in Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel. However, both will be 30 years old after this season and will be free agents. The Commanders lack a dependable receiver to grow with Jayden Daniels. Tre Harris will give Washington a contributor in the present and a foundation piece for the team’s future. Harris can be a reliable big body possession target in limited snaps and later grow into the feature receiver of the offense. The addition of Tre Harris would give the passing attack a three-headed monster for years.
