At least one NFL Insider anticipates the blockbuster trade of cornerback Jalen Ramsey could happen before the start of NFL training camp. According to a report, it seems like the Miami Dolphins finally have a timeline of when Ramsey will finally land with a new team in time for the start of when every roster undergoes training camp. Originally selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the former Florida State product has been waiting patiently on not if, but when the Dolphins will ship the Pro Bowler to another roster. Even though there have been obstacles to the Dolphins sending Ramsey to a team due to his contract, there are reportedly talks that the Dolphins are nearing a deal.
Even though the cornerback prefers to head to a West Coast team like the Los Angeles Rams or Chargers, it’s really any team up for grabs. Ramsey is in a good position to earn a ton of money either way this upcoming season, so it’ll be interesting where he ends up. At some point, there could be cornerback-needy teams may might be calling the Dolphins about a possible offer to get Ramsey. The speculation will continue, so since it’s anyone’s opportunity to get the cornerback, here are five probable teams for Ramsey.

Possible Destinations
Kansas City Chiefs
Despite signing Kristian Fulton, the Kansas City Chiefs could use another depth piece behind him. Nohl and Joshua Williams aren’t going to provide efficient backup, and the only reliability they can lean on is Chamarri Conner. With that, the Chiefs should try to target Ramsey to pair with Trent McDuffie and have one of the most dangerous cornerback units in the AFC.
Los Angeles Chargers
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers could be in play for Ramsey as one of the top suitors. 2024 draft pick Cam Hart has too many expectations this upcoming season, and since they have all the cap space in the world, they should at least trade for Ramsey. Between free agent signees Donte Jackson and Benjamin St-Juste, the Chargers will have enough help, but they need a veteran presence if they want a proper championship run.
Washington Commanders
However, the Commanders could still be in the market for a cornerback despite signing Jonathan Jones. Veteran Marshon Lattimore is looking forward to playing one full healthy season, and he could do that by pairing with Ramsey in one unit. These two teaming up could put the Commanders’ defense finally in the right place.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys may have signed Robert Rochell this past week in a surprise signing after trading for Kaiir Elam, but they need all the depth they can get. Between DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs, they were hoping that these two could be the long-term solutions for the unit, but they’re on thin ice. Ramsey joining the team that he was hoping to go to in the first place, back in the earlier draft, would make sense.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are in dire need of a cornerback this offseason. Between Kool-Aid McKinstry and Alontae Taylor, they have one of the worst secondary units other than Tyrann Mathieu and Justin Reid. Ramsey joining Mathieu and Reid could put this defense on top.
