Antonio Gibson:
Ron Rivera is at the podium. There’s still a lot to unlock with Antonio Gibson and the RB is just scratching the surface. A lot of things he needs to work on are the little things to the position, like looking beyond initial contact.

Landon Collins:
Ron Rivera expressing more optimism about Landon Collins’ new role on defense. They got to blitz him more than in previous games and he thinks Landon will keep getting comfortable with his reads in pass coverage pic.twitter.com/nHIDWUeKe7

Rivera liked Landon Collins’ ability to get downhill and attack. That sets him up to play well closer to the line of scrimmage.

Control:
Rivera: “We have to control what happens. It’s on us. If we get to December in right frame of mind, anything can happen with so many division games.”
— George Wallace (@GWallaceWTOP) October 27, 2021
Denver Broncos:
Rivera on Broncos: “This will be a really good challenge, they’re a really good rushing offense.” Will see how far they’ve come along the D line the last couple weeks.

Taylor Heinicke
Running:
Taylor Heinicke is at the podium. Said over the past two weeks he has started to make progress finding the line on when to use his legs as a weapon.

Redzone:
Taylor time: “You move the ball well, but when you get to the red zone you have to score touchdowns. That’s how you win games.”
— George Wallace (@GWallaceWTOP) October 27, 2021
Job security:
Taylor Heinicke said he changed his mindset last week compared to the previous two weeks. Before was trying to protect what he had. Not the mindset that got him here. pic.twitter.com/jwVP392zHb
— John Keim (@john_keim) October 27, 2021
Taylor says he’s not thinking about losing his job: “My only job is to go out there move the chains, don’t turn the ball over and win games.”
— George Wallace (@GWallaceWTOP) October 27, 2021
Taylor Heinicke said he had a “different mindset” against the Saints and the Chiefs in which he “didn’t want to lose the job” and believed that negatively affected his play.

Having fun:
Heinicke: when I’m out there having fun, that’s when I’m at my best.
Rivera spoke on Monday about Heinicke’s body of work. He gave a similar answer, saying that Heinicke is at his best when he plays to his personality.

Interception:
Asked Taylor about the GB INT. He said it was the same mistake he made vs. Saints… On both, he threw while the DB’s back was turned, trying to hit his WR on a back shoulder. But both guys turned quickly to make the pick. He says throws to the back pylon would’ve been better pic.twitter.com/Qq2ky2fNyG

Cam Sims
Returning to practice:
Cam Sims on getting back in the mix at practice today: “I was happy as hell.” He’s been out since the Atlanta game

Kam Curl
Quarterbacks:
Kam Curl has noticed the difference between opposing QBs this year (guys like Herbert, Allen, Mahomes and A-Rod) and the ones Washington saw last year. The 2021 group is much more savvy, which means that Kam and other defenders have to be much better at disguising pre snap
