Ron Rivera, who told fans that the team needs them in the stands, spoke of the history — five championships, three Super Bowls — and wanting to bring fans back into the fold. Want to give them a reason to fill the stands. Know the team is going and learning, but that’s the goal

— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 7, 2021

— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 7, 2021

CB competition:

Ron Rivera says the backend of the defensive backs group is very competitive and there won’t be easy decisions there. But that also means you’ve had good competition

Dyami Brown:

— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWFT) August 7, 2021

Ron Rivera is pleased with how Dyami Brown is coming along. Says Dyami’s top-line speed causes DBs to play a bit loose on him, which makes it easier for Brown to make plays on slants/“darts,” as Rivera put it pic.twitter.com/iTC3F1TwPF

— Pete Hailey (@PeteHaileyNBCS) August 7, 2021

Coaching:

There’s a lot of great teachers on the staff, Rivera said. It’s no surprise to him what Hoener has done with Logan Thomas, and Chris Harris has been great working with the defensive backs.

— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWFT) August 7, 2021

Cam Sims is up addressing the media next. Said it was great playing in front of the fans again. It gave him a big rush.

— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWFT) August 7, 2021

— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 7, 2021

Practicing vs the starters:

Cam Sims: Working more against the starters in camp has made him more detailed.

Those dudes are good and they’ll blanket you if you don’t switch it up. Cam’s trying to ensure that doesn’t happen pic.twitter.com/IBqWTrnTcC

Two questions for Jon Bostic. On playing in front of fans followed by how he’s helping Jamin Davis. pic.twitter.com/8TrrMpcTTc

— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 7, 2021

Bostic has been trying to pass on little bits of knowledge to Jamin Davis. That’s what veterans did for him in his career, and now he wants to pass that on.

— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWFT) August 7, 2021

2nd year in the defense:

Bostic said learning the defense was a new experience for everyone last year. It took some time, but he could see the improvement on a weekly basis. This year, with a year of experience under their belts, he’s excited to see what the unit can do.

— Zach Selby (@ZachSelbyWFT) August 7, 2021

Advice to rookies:

Bostic owns 22 houses and rents them out monthly. Instead of letting his money sit in a savings account, he wants it to work for him — and it sounds like it does https://t.co/nb5s5FALMl

— Pete Hailey (@PeteHaileyNBCS) August 7, 2021

Jon Bostic dropping all kinds of financial advise. Says he’s not so interested in putting money in banks but rather real estate. He owns 22 homes in Central Florida. Rents each. Views them each as his banks.

— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 7, 2021
