The Washington Football Team goes on the road for the first time this season on Sunday when they head north to face the Buffalo Bills. This game will be Washington’s stiffest test of the season thus far as the Bills were the AFC runner-up in 2020.
While much of the focus for Buffalo is on quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs — and rightfully so — the Bills also have an outstanding defense.
All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White leads that defense. In four years in the NFL, White is a two-time All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler. He also has 15 career interceptions and is arguably, the most underrated cornerback in the NFL.
This Sunday, White should see plenty of Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
After Tuesday’s practice, McLaurin gave an extensive scouting report on White, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.
He can play press-man, his press-man technique is very patient. He does a really good job of cutting off the receivers when they get into the stems of their routes. He’s strong when he’s in press coverage with his game. He can run with pretty much any receiver out there, which makes it really tough. So when he’s playing off, he does a really good job of reading the receiver’s body language. So if you’re taking any false steps, you’re leaning any routes, he’s going to jump it. He does a really good job of undercutting routes, so you’ve got to be able to fight through the contact when you’re playing against a guy like that. You’ve got to be able to get on his toes and dictate a little bit. Just be ready for contested catches and be ready for a four-quarter battle. Because he can cover from the left, right, slot, he can pretty much do it all. I got respect for the way he plays DB and the way he competes. Games like this are fun for me because you get to go up against another really good player and see how you measure up.
Now that’s an impressive scouting report.
Washington WR Terry McLaurin has said Tre’Davious White is one of the toughest CBs he’s faced.

McLaurin caught 11 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown last week. He had five receptions when matched up with New York Pro Bowl corner James Bradberry.
McLaurin and White should be one of the more exciting one-on-one matchups of Week 3.
