The Seahawks Placed 3 Players On The Injured Reserve

The Seattle Seahawks made several roster moves and decisions on Tuesday ahead of their season opener this coming Sunday.

The Seahawks placed three players in the injured reserve on Tuesday including tight end Colby Parkinson, cornerback Tre Brown and cornerback Nigel Warrior. Pete Carroll specifically mentioned Parkinson and Brown during his press conference on Monday. He then said both would miss Week 1.

“More from Pete Carroll: TE Colby Parkinson (foot) won’t make it back this week,” wrote ESPN’s Brady Henderson via Twitter. “CB Tre Brown (knee) remains out.”

Parkinson, Brown and Warrior will all be on the injured reserve when the Seahawks play the Colts this Sunday.

Colby Parkinson is expected to be a significant contributor for the Seahawks this season. But the talented tight end suffered a fractured foot during preseason camp. He’ll miss an extended period of time as a result.

With roster spots available, the Seahawks added cornerback John Reid and receiver Penny Hart to the active roster. It’s starting to look like Seattle’s 53-man roster may be set ahead of its season opener this Sunday.

“As corresponding moves, Seattle added Reid and receiver Penny Hart from the practice squad to the active roster,” wrote Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. “Additionally, the club announced the signing of cornerback Bless Austin. Reports emerged on Monday that the Seahawks were set to sign the former Jets corner.”

The Seahawks will take on the Colts in Indianapolis this Sunday. We’ll get a good look at how Seattle’s defense fares against what’s expected to be a pretty good defense.

The Colts and Seahawks get going at 1 p.m. ET this Sunday, Sept. 12.
