Sunday night’s Super Bowl LVI halftime show was one of the best we’ve ever seen. As expected, it garnered massive ratings.
The NFL went all-in on this year’s show. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar put on a show for the ages.
Just moments ago, the halftime show ratings were released. The performance averaged 103.4 million viewers from 8:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET. That’s a significant increase compared to last year’s performance featuring The Weeknd.

“NBC says the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show averaged 103.4 million viewers from 8:15-8:30 p.m. ET, up over last year (96.7 million from 8:30-8:45 p.m. ET),” tweeted Richard Deitsch of The Athletic.

The NFL should strongly consider following a similar format in coming years. Bringing in multiple legends for a halftime show was brilliant, and no doubt increased viewership.
As of this moment, the YouTube version of the performance has over 37 million views.
“And 37 million views on the NFL YouTube channel alone. The only thing I watched, and it was awesome,” a fan tweeted.
“When you can get a free show with Snoop, Dre, Kendrick, Eminem, Fiddy, and Mary J Blige, you take it. Tastes are particularized, but that’s a tough act for anyone to follow next year,” another fan wrote.
It’s going to take something big for the NFL to top this year’s show in 2023.
